Vliv porostní struktury a druhové skladby na produkci dřevní biomasy výmladků v nízkém a středním lese
Procházka, Martin
In the last century, many coppice forests were transformed into high forests. Nowadays we can see the increase of interest in coppice forests and their management for wood production and nature conservation. The aim of this thesis was to provide the data from the experimental plot TARMAG Hády where the high forest was transformed into the coppice and coppice with standards. The goal was to study the sprouting capacity of different woody species and the production of biomass in those species. It was studying the dependence of biomass production on wood species. It was also surveyed if the number of standards affected the production of biomass. The research plot was measured twice, in 2014 and 2016. Biomass for each stump with sprouts in 2016 was found. The results of the experiment show that the woody biomass was affected by stand basal area previous forest stand. The biomass production was affected by the number of standards. The biggest production of biomass per individual was found in Tilia sp. Implementation of selective thinning is not necessary.
The sprouting dynamics of coppices on experimental clear-cuts of Podyjí National park

This bachelor thesis is dealing with literature review of the subject coppice and coppice-with-standards forest in Czech Republic as well as in Europe. It is concerned with definition of these coppice systems, historical and current progress of coppice and its distribution in Czech Republic and European Union. Further questions of the thesis are, if there is any reason to continue or to renovate silviculture of coppice and if so, for what reasons and what is optimal rotation period in coppice. Description of principal tree species with sprouting ability in Central Europe are included in the thesis as well. In the second part of the bachelor thesis sprouting ability in experimental research plots in National Park Podyjí are evaluated. The sprouting ability is evaluated for three principal tree species in Central Europe, oak, linden and hornbeam. The thesis compares interspecies relations in the initial growing speed of the shoots and the ability to produce the shoots in relation to diameter of the stump. Further the thesis is dealing with growing speed in relation to the amount of available light. Measuring, after five growing seasons, in total of twelve experimental plots, discovered the highest sprouting ability by linden (87%), then oak (43%) and hornbeam (32%). The thesis pointed out the significant interspecies differences in the ability to produce shoots. But the reliance of shoots producing on stump diameter has not been proved (for oak and hornbeam). Because the relationship between the height increment of shoots and the amount of available light was not significantly demonstrate, it can be assumed, that experimental plots (forest clearing) are extensive enough and the sprouting ability is not limited by the amount of available light.
Posouzení možnosti využití kořenových vývrtů pro zjištění vegetativního/generativního původu stromu
Matějíčková, Radka
The bachelor's thesis deals with the realization and assessment of the method using root cores for differentiation of the sprout or seedling origin of a tree. The research took place at the coppices of Research forest of Istanbul University in Turkey. Subsequently the number of tree rings in root and trunk cores were counted and compared. The hypothesis of possible determination when the roots are older than the trunk of a tree by number of tree rings was not confirmed. The method was dealing with root wood decay and deformations and according to the results of this research the method cannot be yet recommended for practical use.
Výmladnost a produkce biomasy dubu zimního (Quercus petraea agg.) na výzkumné ploše Soběšice

This thesis deals with study of the sprouting of sessile oak in the experimental area Soběšice. This area was established within the frame of project TARMAG. The Sprouting was monitored in two years -- 2011 and 2012, so directly after the first vegetation period after timber harvesting in the area. Data found by measuring height and thickness of sprouts and also by diameter of stump and number of sprouts (for each stump) was used for rating of sprouting ability. For statistical data evolution was used program Microsoft Office Excel. In the context of this thesis to determined biomass production (dry weight of organic wood matter) were also removed all the sprouts of the selected tree stumps of the research areas. It was found, that in the first years of oak growth hasn't got substantial impact on the oak sprouting the diameter of stump or intensity of timber harvesting. Furthermore, it was found that the total biomass of tree stump could be with some accuracy to determine the characteristics of a selected number of sprouts.
